Nelson E. Baez, Esq. - Past President

In July of 2013 Nelson E. Baez joined the Law Firm of Lytal, Reiter, Smith, Ivey & Fronrath. His practice is focused on obtaining just compensation for clients who have been injured due to the negligence of others. Nelson represents clients for injuries suffered as a result of motor vehicle accidents, wrongful death, negligent security, slip and falls, products liability and medical malpractice. In 2016 Nelson was recognized by the National Trial Lawyers as Top 40 Under 40 Civil Trial Lawyer.

Prior to joining Lytal and Reiter, Nelson worked as an Assistant State Attorney in Palm Beach County. As a prosecutor Nelson gained significant jury trial experience. In his final year as a prosecutor Nelson was Deputy Chief of County Court where he supervised and trained over 30 attorneys. Nelson graduated from law school in 2009 from Stetson University College of Law. While at Stetson, Nelson and his teammates competed against 248 teams from 147 law schools to win the American Association for Justice National Trial Competition.

Nelson comes from a family of lawyers. In Puerto Rico, Nelson’s great-grandfather was a Judge in Mayaguez and his grandfather ran his own law practice for over 50 years in Aguadilla. Nelson brings his families legal tradition to serve the Hispanic community in South Florida.
